Nigeria’s inflation rate increased to 34.19% in June 2024, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Monday, June 15, 2024. This represents an increase of 0.24 per cent points from the previous headline inflation rate of 33.95 per cent in May. President of the African Development Bank, AfBD, Mr Akinwumi Adesina, has said the Federal Government’s decision to suspend duties and taxes on imported food commodities was depressing. A 34-year-old man was charged with two counts of murder by British police on Monday as they identified his victims whose remains were found last week in suitcases on a Bristol bridge and in a London residence. National Media Complaints Commission (NMCC), or the Ombudsman, has received a formal complaint from the federal government against the Daily Trust Newspaper over a report published on July 4, 2024. The Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Refinery, Aliko Dangote, has revealed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation now owns only a 7.2 per cent stake in the refinery.
