Suspected bandits attacked the residence of Maharazu Dayi, Chairman of Malumfashi Local Government Area in Katsina State, on Tuesday, killing Police Corporal Shamsudeen Lawal.
The officer was shot during the attack and was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police mobilized to the scene, and three suspects were arrested in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided.
It remains unclear if there were additional casualties, but security forces reportedly prevented the assailants from breaking into the residence. An eyewitness confirmed that the chairman and his family were inside the house during the attack.
