Celebrity designer, Veekee James has called out Senegalese designer King Corset for allegedly copying her viral design without giving due credit.
The Nigerian designer expressed outrage, accusing King Corset of replicating her design 100 percent and even creating a documentary about it without acknowledging her inspiration.
Veekee James emphasised the importance of originality and criticised designers who resort to copying others’ work without proper credit or recognition.
She wrote on Instagram: “Some of you designers in this industry are many MAD. Like seriously mad!
How on earth do you copy someone’s viral design 100% and have the guts to do a documentary Imac.
“The reason why a lot of you will never grow or last long in this industry is your lack of originality and effort! The height is copying someone without even acknowledging them!
“Like what’s the difference between you and a thief? How do you all think God blesses the works of your hands? By stealing? Smh there’s more where the creativity came from that’s why. I don’t bother with yall these days but this had to be said! I wish you all well as you strive to excel in this industry! Free publicity for you btw “king corset’”.
