Chelsea Face Man City In Epic Premier League Opener On August 18th

Manchester City will kick off their bid for a record fifth straight Premier League title away to Chelsea, managed by Pep Guardiola’s former assistant Enzo Maresca.

The fixture list released on Tuesday confirmed the current champions will visit Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 18, to raise the curtain on the 2024–25 campaign.

Pep Guardiola’s side, on the final day of the 2023–24 season, became the first side in history to win the Premier League title for four consecutive seasons.

They have dominated the Premier League in recent years, winning the title in six of the past seven seasons.

Ending a 22-year absence from the top flight, Ipswich faces a tough battle as they welcome a new-look Liverpool side following the departure of Jurgen Klopp at the end of last season.

Fellow newcomers and former champion Leicester will face Tottenham Hotspur and will start a new life without title-winning manager Enzo Maresca, who joined Chelsea on a reported five-year deal.
