Cubana Chief Priest Relocates Business To Lagos, Citing Insecurity In Southeast

Popular socialite Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has revealed that the insecurity in the southeast made him move his business to Lagos.

The nightlife promoter also revealed that concerns about kidnappings and violence were major factors deterring customers from the southeast.

He made this known during a recent interview with BBC Igbo.

“Why I came to Lagos to do business is that most of our siblings are scared to go home… cause if they come home, I will do my business.

“There is widespread hunger in the South-East. It is our own community members who provide criminals with information.

“Our people began targeting the wealthy, so the wealthy stopped returning home during festivities. That is why I moved to Lagos to conduct my business.”

Cubana is facing a legal issue for alleged abuse of the naira. A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday adjourned the case against him until June 25.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Cubana on April 17 on a three-count charge of allegedly spraying and tampering with the Naira notes during a social event at Eko hotel in Lagos.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail of N10 million.
