The Edo State Gubernatorial Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed the appeal filed by the Accord Party against the election of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

In its judgement delivered on Wednesday, the three-member tribunal ruled that the party failed to substantiate its allegation of non-compliance.

The tribunal also dismissed the Accord Party’s request to declare its candidate as the winner of the September 21, 2024, election.

Citing past Court of Appeal and Supreme Court judgments, the tribunal affirmed that relevant facts must be pleaded for such a request to be granted.
