No fewer than 37,000 women across the country are expected to benefit from the Renewed Hope Initiative re-capitalisation grant of the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Tinubu stated this on Thursday during the symbolic presentation of food items to Internally Displaced Persons Living with Disabilities and vulnerable people in Benue State.

Represented by the wife of the Vice President, Mrs Nana Shettima, the president’s wife said 1000 women from each state and the Federal Capital Territory would get a N50,000 recapitalisation grant from the RHI economic empowerment programme.

She said, “I am pleased to inform you that the governing council of the Renewed Hope Initiative have graciously approved a business re-capitalisation grant of N50,000 for 1000 women petty traders in each state and the FCT to support their businesses as part of our renewed hope initiative for women economic programme.

“This programme will be launched on the 22nd of August simultaneously across the country.”

She said the programme was designed to provide support to the underprivileged in line with the resolve of President Tinubu to leave no one behind in ensuring food security and sufficiency in the country.

While urging the beneficiaries to make use of the items, Senator Tinubu added that under the programme, a truckload of assorted food items is donated for onward distribution to the targeted groups in the state.

Earlier in his address, the state governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, appreciated the president’s wife for her support to Benue women, especially, those living with disabilities and vulnerable people.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Sam Ode, promised that his administration would complement the efforts of the president’s wife by augmenting the distribution of the items to the most vulnerable people in the state.

Alia who described the President as a father and friend of the state also commended Vice President Kashim Shettima for his continuous support to the state and said that the state has benefited so much from the Renewed Hope Initiative.
