President Donald Trump of the United States has expressed dissatisfaction with Mojtaba Khamenei’s selection as Iran’s new supreme leader.
Trump stated this on Monday when interacting with Fox News.
He claimed Iran has previously launched hundreds of missiles against Middle Eastern countries, but that the regional balance had shifted as a result of recent US military efforts.
According to him, the United States had dealt Iran a severe blow and insisted that Tehran’s capabilities had been significantly weakened.
The Republican further said that ships should not fear crossing the Strait of Hormuz despite rising tensions in the region.
“I am not happy Mojtaba Khamenei is selected as Iran’s new Supreme Leader,” he said.
Iranian state television reported on Sunday that Mojtaba Khamenei was chosen to succeed his late father as the country’s supreme leader.
