In a crackdown on internet fraud, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 15 suspected fraudsters, with 4 nabbed in Abuja and 11 in Port Harcourt.

The suspects were arrested in sting operations carried out simultaneously in both cities, following weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering by EFCC operatives.

In Abuja, the 4 suspects were arrested at the Kubwa axis of the Federal Capital Territory, where they were found to be operating a sophisticated fraud scheme.

In Port Harcourt, the 11 suspects were arrested at the Whimpey, Ada George area of the city, where they were found to be running a similar fraudulent operation.

Items recovered from the suspects include four cars, several mobile phones, laptops, and documents containing fraudulent details.

According to EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

The EFCC’s action is part of its efforts to tackle the growing menace of internet fraud in the country, and to ensure that those found guilty are brought to justice.
