    Senate Approves Abdullahi Bello’s Appointment As Chairman, Code Of Conduct Bureau

    The Senate has approved the appointment of Abdullahi Usman Bello as Chairman of the Code of Conduct Burea, CCB.

    The confirmation on Thursday was sequel to consideration of the report of Senator Neda Imasuen, LP, Edo South led Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions for the Confirmation of Abdullahi Usman Bello for Appointment as Chairman Code of Conduct Bureau.

    in presenting the report, Imasuen said, “That the Senate do receive and consider the report of the Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions on the confirmation of Abdullahi Usman Bello for appointment as Chairman Code of Conduct Bureau in accordance with section154 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

    President Bola Tinubu had written the Senate in March, seeking for the screening and subsequent confirmation of Bello as Chairman , Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB.

    In the letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill, President Tinubu explained that his nomination was informed by the vacancy created by the expiration of tenure and subsequent retirement of the immediate past chairman of the bureau, Professor Isah Mohamned.

    He added that the appointment was pursuant to section 154(1) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.

    The request was then referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions for furrher legislative action.
