Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has presented a cash gift of ₦10 million to Isioma Nwosu, who was recognised as the top graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU) for the 2023/2024 academic session.
Nwosu, a Biochemistry graduate from the Faculty of Science, achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.93 out of a possible 5.0.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who was represented by his deputy, Obafemi Hazmat, announced the award on Thursday during LASU’s 28th Convocation Ceremony, held at the Buba Marwa Auditorium in Ojo.
The event also featured the conferral of honorary doctorate degrees and distinguished professorships on several prominent figures.
Among the honorees were Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (Retired), Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and former military administrator of Lagos State, who received a Doctor of Humane Letters in Infrastructure, Security, and National Development (Honoris Causa).
Olufemi Pedro, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, was awarded a Doctor of Business in Banking, Entrepreneurship, and National Development.
