The Katsina State Police Command has dismissed recent media reports claiming that a bandit attack disrupted Juma’at prayers in Dan Ali village, Danmusa LGA, Katsina State.

In a press statement signed by the Command’s police public relations officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the police refuted the reports, urging the public to disregard the false information.

The statement emphasised that the fabricated report was intended to spread panic and misinformation.

He said: “The fact is that on October 4th, 2024, at about 1400hrs (2pm), some suspected armed bandits in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons such as AK 47 rifles, shooting sporadically attempted to attack farmers working on their farms but were swiftly repelled by a combined team of police operatives, the military, and members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC). Ensuring the safety of the farmers and preventing any harm’’.

‘’We urge the public to disregard the fabricated report, as it is aimed at spreading panic and misinformation.

“The Katsina State Police Command, under the able leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, psc+, remains committed toward safeguarding the lives and properties of the good people of the state’’.

The command also stated that it would appreciate the public’s cooperation and encourage continued support in the fight against all forms of crime and criminality in the state, especially kidnapping and banditry.
