    Liverpool Are Premier League Champions

Liverpool have been crowned Premier League champions after a dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday.

Arne Slot’s side needed just a point to secure the title and match Manchester United’s record of 20 league championships.

However, they went beyond expectations with goals from Luis Díaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, and an own goal by Destiny Udogie, sealing a resounding win.

Speaking after the match, captain Virgil van Dijk shared his thoughts with Sky Sports.

He said: “This is the most beautiful club in the world. We deserve this. I was desperate to win it for the fans, for everyone around the world, and for ourselves. We’re going to enjoy the next couple of weeks and take it all in.”

Mohamed Salah’s goal marked the 185th of his Premier League career, making him the highest-scoring foreign player in league history.

Following Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday, they can no longer mathematically catch Liverpool, despite having four games left to play.

Liverpool hold a 15-point lead over Arsenal and have lost just twice in 34 league matches this season, capping a remarkable debut campaign for Arne Slot, who joined from Feyenoord to replace Jürgen Klopp last summer.

After the final whistle, Slot paid tribute to Klopp by leading fans in a chant of his predecessor’s name, mirroring the gesture Klopp made for him a year earlier.
