Former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Tinubu, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has stated that the north will soon decide who to support in the 2027 general election.
Baba-Ahmed served as Special Adviser to President Tinubu before leaving the position to return as the spokesperson for the Arewa Elders Forum.
Speaking in an interview clip posted on social media, Baba-Ahmed stated that no politician in the country can win the presidency without getting backing from the north.
According to him, the north will decide its political stance in the next six months.
“We want a government that understands our problems and can address them,” Baba-Ahmed said.
“If they plan to rig the election, they should be careful. It won’t be good for Nigeria.
“No politician can become president without northern support, making the region’s stance crucial to any aspirant’s success,” he added.
