The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has nominated 12 commissioners to serve in the state executive council.

In a Thursday statement, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan disclosed that the names of the nominees have been forwarded to the state House of Assembly for confirmation.

The nomination was conveyed in a letter addressed to Speaker of the House, Hon. Olamide Oladiji on Thursday.

The commissioner-nominees are Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, Engr Aycrinde Abiola Olawoye, Hon. Ayodele Akande, Engr Alabi Johnson, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, Otunba Adewale Akinlosotu and Mr. Idowu Ajanaku.

Others are Dr Oluwaseun Abosede Osamaye, Dr Tob Loko, Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, Hon. Sunday Olajide and Mr. Omoyofunmi Segun Henry.

The governor sought expeditious action on his request for confirmation of the nominees in the overall interest of the state.

Aiyedatiwa was sworn in for his first full four-year term on February 24, 2025, two months after winning the governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was previously sworn in to complete the term of his late principal, Rotimi Akeredolu on December 27, 2023.

On January 15, 2025, Aiyedatiwa dissolved the state executive council ahead of his inauguration, choosing to exempt the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kayode Ajulo SAN, and the Commissioner for Finance, Omowunmi Isaac.
