    One Person Cheats Death As Chemical Explosion Rocks Lagos

    A women whose identity was unknown as at press time cheated death in the Agege area of Lagos when Chemical explosion occured in the area which led to heavy fire. The incident happened at Old Abeokuta Road, near popular Vetland Secondary School in Agege.

    The victim was immediately rescued by men of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency responders.

    According to reports, the incident happened at about 6.pm on Friday.

    The Agege Fire and Rescue crew of the agency quickly brought the situation under control after dousing the fire from the explosion of sets of varying kegs sizes containing unknown chemical stored in an open fenced-gated land.

    Director, Lagos Fire Service, Mrs Margaret Adeseye, said initial investigation revealed the fire followed the explosion of the chemical which were kept unprotected from sunlight.

    Meanwhile, Adeseye said, investigation has commenced to identify the owner for necessary action and the type of chemical stored in a residential area, which were exposed directly to sun rays.

    “The rescued lady is however responding to treatment from sustained first degree burnt, “Adeseye stated.
