Premier League: Ipswich Town Relegated After Newcastle Defeat

Ipswich Town’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed on Saturday as the Tractor Boys were beaten by Newcastle United even with four matches before the end of the season.

Goals from Alexander Isak and Dan Burn secured all three points for Newcastle against Ipswich and ensured the Tractor Boys will be playing Championship football once again next season.

A tough afternoon for Ipswich started badly when Ben Johnson was sent off in the first half, before a penalty on the stroke of half-time from Isak gave the visitors a mountain to climb.

Further goals from Dan Burn and William Osula finished Ipswich off and ensured they claim the final relegation spot in the Premier League for the 2024-25 season.

Although Ipswich will finish off their Premier League campaign playing against Everton, Brentford, Leicester and West Ham, their fate has however been sealed.
