President Tinubu Is Trying To Be Fair In His Appointments, Says APC

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says comments from Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu has been making appointments in a lopsided manner is false.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka who stated this while featuring as a guest on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television says it is natural for the president to appoint those he knew and has worked well with him in the past into his government.

Citing the example of a chef, Morka said any leader elected into office will always appoint a cook who has been making his food for a long time rather than appointing a new one.

“From the beginning of time, not just in our country but any country in the world, your cook is most likely a cook that has cooked for you in a long time. People tend to make appointment while in office in a way that mirrors their overall worldview and experience”.

“You just mentioned that under Buhari, we saw a lot of appointments that are lopsided. You called it lopsided but it’s the nature of things”.

“In this government, I think that President Tinubu is trying to be fair and this is a government that has just done one year in office; that is yet to even exhaust all of the opportunities for people to be invited to serve in this government”.

There are so many offices that are yet to be filled. If you noticed, last week Ajuri, the presidential spokesman made a release of flurry of appointments. So, there is more to come. I have always said that we can’t just simply stop at a junction and then begin to make these assessments as though it’s all done and said. It’s not all done”.
