Popular socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana has thrown his weight behind a new reality TV show, ‘Next Naija Couple’, which aims to redefine modern relationships by promoting authentic love and commitment anchored in African society.

The show, organized by Quadrangle Media Limited in collaboration with Cubana Group, was unveiled last Sunday, amid fun fare at the EbonyLife Place, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking at the star-studded event, Obi Cubana expressed his enthusiasm for the project’s emphasis on marriage and morality. He underscored the importance of hard work, love, and faith in a strong marriage, reflecting the show’s commitment to showcasing enduring relationships.

According to him, even though marriages have been messed up in the world today, especially on social media platforms, the same social media platforms also can be used to promote and uphold the core values of marriage.

“I am lucky that my marriage is still intact. I have put in so much effort to make my marriage work. But there are some people who have done the same and it wouldn’t be for them.

“When you have God everything is possible. For some of us who have been fortunate enough to maintain core family values, it behoves on us to impact positive values on this new generation,”, the socialite stated.

Also, highlighting the show’s focus on fostering true love amid the challenges of social media-driven relationships, Managing Director of Quadrangle Media Limited, Iyke Obi, said the ‘Next Naija Couple’ will feature 12 men and 12 women searching for love. It will also run for eight weeks and targeted at ages between 15 and 35.

Explaining further, Obi said the participants will enter the villa as boys and girls, while they will come out as men and women. The show will start airing from October 6, on PopCentral TV (DSTV channel 189) and AIT, with a dedicated app for on-demand viewing.

The viewing audience, Obi said, will also stand a chance to win amazing prizes as the show airs. The winning couple will smile home with huge sum of money among other goodies

“Today, we are unveiling a journey we started four years ago, a reality TV show called Next Naija Couple. We are here to change the narrative about African relationships and marriages. And we want to tell those stories from an African standpoint.

“This show is one of its kind. We are to celebrate the core values of Africa, those morals that make us who we are as Africans. On this show, we are going to have 24 participants, 12 male and 12 females, who will come together under one roof to share one common goal to find love.

Meanwhile, applicants are expected to visit the Next Naija Couple website to register for the show. The registration will run for six weeks, after which the organizers will commence regional auditions to ensure that everyone is given the opportunity to participate in the show.

The show, which was unveiled, was attended by top entertainers, including AY, who hosted the event, Chinedu Ikedizie aka Aki, and Charles Novia.
