‘Stop The Noise, Help Move Kogi Forward’ – APC Chairman Urges Opposition To Support Ododo

The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Kogi State, Abdulahi Bello, has urged the opposition to support the administration of Governor Usman Ododo in moving the start forward.

He made the call while reacting to the Supreme Court judgement affirming the victory of Ododo during the November 11, 2023, governorship election.

Bello, in a telephone chat with our correspondent shortly after the court judgement, said “I feel elated for the Supreme Court verdict of today.

“It’s a demonstration of the court as the last hope of the common man. I will advise the opposition noise makers to put a stop to their noise and join hands with Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to move the state forward.”

Also the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo, in a statement shortly after the judgement said the Supreme Court’s pronouncement was an affirmation of the popular choice of the people.

“With the needless distractions over, we are much confident that your impressive performance within the short period as attested to in all the nooks and crannies of the state, will even translate into a more historic and unprecedented transformation of Kogi,” he added.

However, the Social Democratic Party’s Muri/Sam Campaign Organization Spokesperson, David Ijele, while reacting to the judgement, said the judiciary needs urgent reform to be able to deliver and protect democracy in Nigeria.

“We did our best, Nigeria system happened to us, the whole world knows the truth, and I think there is an urgent call for judiciary reform. If we don’t get our justice system fixed then sorry to say this; banana Republic will be better than Nigeria.”
