His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, has pledged his continued support to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its fight against corruption.

The Sultan made the promise when the Sokoto Zonal Acting Commander of the EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE 1 Nwanneka Nwokike, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Sokoto.

The visit was part of the EFCC’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders in the fight against corruption.

“I will keep supporting your fight against graft,” the Sultan told the EFCC team, reaffirming his commitment to the anti-corruption crusade.

The Sultan’s pledge was echoed by the Commander, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sokoto, Bello Alkali Argungu, who assured the EFCC of his Corps’ readiness to support the anti-corruption fight.

“The EFCC is the most critical institution in Nigeria today, and we stand ready to support their efforts at any time,” Argungu said.

Similarly, the Area Controller, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Zone B, Kamal Mohammed, expressed his support for the EFCC’s efforts, noting that the Commission has achieved phenomenal successes in the fight against corruption.

“The EFCC has carved a niche for itself in the history of Nigeria, and we are committed to supporting their efforts,” Mohammed said.

The EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, who spoke through Nwokike, assured the stakeholders of the Commission’s readiness to partner with all stakeholders to redeem the country from the scourge of corruption, economic and financial crimes.

The Sultan’s support, combined with the commitments from the NSCDC and NCS, is a significant boost to the EFCC’s efforts to tackle corruption in the country.
