President Bola Tinubu has officially launched the 2025 Armed Forces of Nigeria Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund.

He performed the ceremony at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.

The Day recognizes the vital role of the Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation.

During the ceremony, Tinubu expressed gratitude for the military’s commitment as the first line of defense against threats to national security.

He praised their recent successes in combating various challenges, emphasizing that peace and development cannot be achieved without a secure environment.

The president highlighted the Armed Forces’ dedication to Nigeria’s unity, stability, and progress, reaffirming their patriotic service to the nation.

In a show of appreciation for the sacrifices of fallen heroes, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume announced a donation of N500 million on behalf of the Executive branch of government.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also contributed on behalf of the National Assembly, pledging N200 million.

Additionally, Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa announced a donation of N50 million from the Service Chiefs, and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetoken extended his support as well.

The event aims to underscore the government’s commitment to honoring those who have served and sacrificed for the country’s security.
