President Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Wednesday celebrated the leader of the Governance Advisory Council, Tajudeen Olusi on his conferment of honorary doctorate degree by the Lagos State University, LASU.

At a dinner reception in honor of the GAC leader held in Lagos, President Tinubu who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Media Affairs, Tunde Rahman, described Olusi as ‘a man of honour.’

“Pa Olusi is a leader, elder statesman and community leader. He is a man of honour. The true test of a leader is how he is celebrated. He has paid his dues over the years and he is a bridge builder. The conferment of honorary doctorate degree on him was an indication of how well he has contributed to the development of Lagos State,” Tinubu said.

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the Pro-Chancellor, Lafia University, Nasarawa State, Lola Akande also described Olusi as ‘ a diligent and man of integrity.

” He is forthright, he is a man I always go to for advice,” she said

On his part, Governor Sanwo-Olu said Olusi’s advice and contributions have contributed to the smooth running of Lagos State.

“He is a rallying point for our political trajectory in Lagos. He has shown leadership qualities and demonstrated capacity as a man that is reliable. He is worthy of emulation.

Olusi is a man that speaks truth to power. He gives advice and chastises when he needs to, ” Sanwo-Olu said.

The Deputy Governor, Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, said Olusi ‘is a humble man.’

” He has humanity and humility in him. Our elders in Lagos are always there for us to guide us. They know the ropes. GAC is a guiding light for political leaders in Lagos State and Olusi is the epitome of that. He talks to us gently. He started well as a politician and will end well,” Hamzat said.

In his response, Olusi thanked the management of LASU for the award . He said the likes of late Lateef Jakande and himself have served Lagos State to the best of their abilities.

He urged political leaders to shun corruption and always have the interest of the people at heart.

Olusi is one of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Lagos State. He was a former commissioner, council chairman and lawmaker.

He is the chairman, Council of Elders in Lagos State and also chairs the Governance Advisory Council, the highest decision-making group in Lagos.
