After preparations and training of officials, the proposed Video Assistant Referee (VAR) officially made its debut in the Mauritania League.
The Federation of Mauritania Football (FMF) announced at the end of last season that VAR would be in used from the coming season. The League started on Saturday and the VAR was present at the Cheikha Boidiya Stadium in the game between AS Garde and Ksar.
The fans at the stadium were excited following the development and when the centre decided to consult VAR for clarification. Mauritania joined the rest of the countries in the continent who introduced the equipment into the League.
