Zlatan’s Partner Defends His Parenting After Son’s Video Sparks Controversy

Davita Lamai, the baby mama of singer Zlatan, has come to his defense after a video went viral showing their son, Shalom being scared of street kids and calling them “bad boys”.

The video sparked backlash with many criticising Zlatan’s parenting.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Davita explained the situation was taken out of context and the street kids in question can be intimidating, even to adults.

She shared her own experiences of being harassed by similar kids in traffic and expressed concern for her son’s safety.

Davita praised her son as “the most compassionate and caring and friendly boy ever” but acknowledged that she had to teach him to be cautious around strangers.

She questioned what “teachable moment” could be derived from the situation, implying that the backlash was unwarranted.

”When it’s your own child please allow them to get down from the car in that traffic and greet those boys one by one! Same boys that will mount your car, damage your car and bang on the windows if you give them chance. As you give 1 money the rest will come and violently harass you.

“Even me as an adult if I’m driving alone and those boys crowd my car in traffic and start looking through the window l am scared. What exactly is the teachable moment there? SMH.

“My son is the most compassionate and caring and friendly boy ever to the point that when we finally permanently moved to lagos I’m the one that had to make him scared of people because he will follow anyone and everyone”.
