Son of first elected Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Rafiu Jafojo, Adeniyi, has hailed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for turning waste to electricity.
He also the govenor’s initiatives in transport and infrastructure.
The state had signed a partnership with a Dutch firm, Harvest Waste Consortium, for a Waste-to-Energy plant on Epe landfill, to generate clean energy from human waste.
The initiative will take 40,000 homes off national grid and enhance energy security and diversification, generating between 60 and 75 megawatts of base load electricity annually.
Jafojo said the move is a game changer for sustainable energy supply that states should emulate.
“I am happy the state is moving towards energy sufficiency,” he said.
Besides, Jafojo is excited by life enhancing projects in infrastructure and transportation.
“I have watched with interest major life enhancing projects in transportation and road infrastructure and I must hail the governor for this,” he said.
