The Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, has paid N12.7billion as bonds for retirees within 18 months of his administration to surpass the total amount of N11b paid in 12 years by All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeleke, while presenting N4billion bond certificate to retirees at the Local Government Service Commission hall, Abere on Friday, June 7, made the disclosure.

He stated: “For my administration, the amount of bonds released from December 2022 to date across State and LGAs is N12, 719,245,528,00 including the N4,009,358,431.00 I am presenting today.

“This record, I have surpassed surpassed the entire records of 12 years of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in pension payment the entire N12years of APC government.”

Adeleke added: “The administration of my two predecessors for 12 years paid N11,155,651,780.56 for gratuities at the State level. At the local level, the two previous governments paid N6,488,876,324.58.”

The governor said the method he employed was to approve the recommendation of the Head of Service to improve on the monthly releases for gratuities and bonds.

The Head of Service, Samuel Aina lauded Adeleke for the commitment of his administration to workers and retirees.
