The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that no official date has been set for the release of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.

Students and parents are urged to remain patient and await further updates from WAEC. The council emphasized that efforts are being made to ensure the results are released both promptly and accurately.

WAEC Communication Officer, Moyosore Adeyegbe, clarified that the speculated release date of August 5 is “unofficial.” She noted that the results could be released before or after that date, and that the August 5 date was not verified by the appropriate authorities.

Adeyegbe explained that results are typically released within 45 days after the last examination. Thus, the suggested date of August 5 does not align with this timeline.

An examiner, Mr. Abiodun Abubakar, also mentioned that the coordination and marking of scripts were recently completed, suggesting that the results could be released in the first weeks of August, considering potential delays due to upcoming protests.
