Chief Emeka Beke, the newly reinstated chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said Tony Okocha is not a member of the party in the state.

A Rivers State High Court presided over by Justice Sika Aprioku, in Port Harcourt, on Monday sacked the Caretaker Committee of the APC in the state led by Tony Okocha as inaugurated by the National Working Committee of the party.

Speaking in an interview on Arise Television, Beke who promised to unite the party members insisted that Okocha was no longer a member of the APC as he had left for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

He said Okocha was imposed as caretaker chairman of the party in Rivers by the national leadership in order to act a script of someone who has never worked for the party.

“Tony Okocha is not a member of APC. His name is not in APC register in his ward Everybody knows that he was a member of the SDP. He was a member of the party but he left us for SDP and he is coming to play a script for somebody. It’s not going to work”.

“The truth you must know is that Tony left the APC to join SDP. It is a fact that everybody knows in Rivers State. He can’t deny that fact. Somebody who has never worked for us is coming to benefit”.

You know the script that is happening in Rivers State. A man who has never worked for the party wants to take over the structures of the party in the State. Okocha is playing somebody’s script”.

“Tony should come and prove to me if his name is in the register of our party in his ward in Rumuigbo. I have the register of the party in the state. It is still under my custody”.
