Mark Jacobs, a former National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has blamed the party’s National Working Committee, NWC for failing to rein in former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and others who are destabilising the party.
Speaking on Arise Television, Jacobs said Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would have been expelled in the days of Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar or Ahmadu Ali.
“The leadership of the PDP, particularly the NWC has failed to rein in characters and individuals who ought to be taken and dealt with. In the days of Solomon Lar, in the days of Alex Ekwueme and Ahmadu Ali under whom I serve, there is nobody, no individual could do the thing that Wike is doing and still claim to be a member of the party. You will be expelled with one paragraph”.
“But today, if you ask leaders of our party why some people who have openly opposed the party, who have openly done evil to the membership and structures of the party are still being allowed to walk around and come in, dismember and embarrass the party while they are still not being dealt with, you hear different stories”.
“It’s completely astonishing that such people are so arrogant in their behaviour and nobody is saying anything. It is strange and it is not part of the PDP that we belong to and it is not something that we have seen before because individuals should never be bigger than the party”.
