In a tragic incident, suspected bandits invaded Zone A, behind the Primary School in Ushafa, a community within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), killing a man identified as Mr. Felix Chuks and abducting his entire family.

The attack occurred around midnight on Thursday, with the assailants unleashing heavy gunfire that rattled the community.

According to a resident who spoke on the condition of anonymity, efforts to contact the local vigilantes during the assault were unsuccessful, as the men on duty failed to respond to calls, likely due to the intense gunfire.

While the exact reason for Mr. Chuks’ death remains unclear, there is speculation that he may have resisted the attackers, leading to his killing.

“The bandits came to the area around midnight when everyone was asleep. It looks like the man was not cooperating with them, which is why they killed him,” the resident explained.

This attack follows a similar incident months ago when bandits invaded the same community, killing a man and abducting his pregnant wife and children.

Despite these ongoing threats, no arrests have been reported since the previous abduction.

Efforts to reach the FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, for comment were unsuccessful, as her mobile line remained engaged.

The incident has heightened fears among residents, who are now questioning the effectiveness of local security measures in the area.
