Following the comprehensive defeat they suffered in the hands of the Super Eagles, the head coach of Benin Republic, Gernot Rohr, has explained the difference between both teams.
The Super Eagles in Uyo on Saturday, it would be recalled, thrashed Benin 3-0 to go top of their group in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier. While speaking after the game, Rohr said Nigeria has better players who play regularly for their clubs.
“What didn’t work was that we didn’t have the same resources as this Nigeria team.
“When you look at the Nigerian squad, they have high-level players who play in their clubs every week”, he said.
