Edo 2024: PDP’s Refusal To Sign Peace Accord Not A Surprise To Us – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State chapter on Friday says the refusal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to sign the peace accord ahead of the Edo State governorship election September 21 is not a surprise.
Of the 17 political parties contesting the poll, 16 signed the treaty, with the ruling PDP the only party which declined to be part of the agreement.
Prince Kassim Afegbua, Director of Media, Edo APC Campaign Organisation, said the PDP’s decision to shun the peace pact has confirmed  to Nigerians that is party known for violence.
According to him, it is hypocritical for Governor Godwin Obaseki to be advocating violence and shunning a peace pact midwifed by eminent Nigerians while accusing the Nigerian Police of bias.
” The PDP’s refusal to sign the peace accord is not a surprise because they are known for violence, harassment, threat and intimidation”.
“They want to abuse the privilege of being the party in power in the state. But we are not deterred at all. We have capacity to look them in the  face, eyeball for eyeball”.
“Governor Obaseki cannot be an advocate of violence and be complaining about Nigeria Police for doing their legitimate responsibility”.
“The PDP know they have failed already that is why they are clutching at flotsam to remain afloat. We are used to their pranks. On the 21st, we will root them out of Edo state”.
