Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has assured the Edo State governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, that his palace is always open for them to visit at any time.
This is as the monarch advised the duo to implement their campaign promises on assumption of office.
He spoke at his palace when he received Okpebholo and Deputy Governor-elect Dennis Idahosa who presented their certificates of return to him on Tuesday.
The governor-elect and deputy governor-elect will be sworn in on November 12.
Oba Ewuare II said: “God works in mysterious ways. This palace is open to you.
“You should do your best to carry out the promises you made during your campaigns, to the admiration of all, and more blessings will come.”
The Oba of Benin also promised to continue to pray without ceasing, ahead of the forthcoming Emoro, also known as new yam festival and his 8th coronation anniversary.
Okpebholo thanked the royal father for his prayers. Okpebholo and Idahosa were accompanied to the palace by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, and the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo, Comrade Philip Shaibu, among other leaders of APC.
