Outgoing deputy governor of Edo state, Phillip Shaibu on Tuesday says God cannot grant Governor Godwin Obaseki access to heaven because he has failed to fulfill the instruction to win souls.
Speaking on Channels Television, Shaibu says Obaseki who will handover to the Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo today is leaving behind a legacy of division in the state as he fought everyone who disagreed with him on his policies and governance style.
“The good news is that a lot of lessons have been learnt. I just finished Mass, the last Mass as deputy governor. When I became deputy governor, I started with Mass in a Chapel. I just finished the last Mass and i bade everybody farewell as a Catholic”.
“I realised that God has told everyone of us to go and multiply. God told all of us to go and win souls. When somebody says ‘everybody go to hell’ and only you want to go to heaven, God will not even grant you the heaven because God asked you to go and win souls. So, if only you are coming, you will be lonely in heaven. That’s what has happened to Obaseki today”.
“He is going to be lonely and God will not even grant him heaven because he has not fulfilled the commandment of God to go and win souls to heaven. Instead, he sends everybody to hell. So, it’s a lesson that I have also learnt and I pray that he survives the loneliness. That’s the truth”.
