Former chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) has berated Daniel Bwala, former PDP presidential campaign spokesperson for accepting appointment from President Bola Tinubu whom he had severely criticised.
Bwala, a lawyer, was first appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication (State House). However, after announcing himself as the official spokesperson to the president, he was reassigned as Special Adviser on Policy Communication, a development perceived as a demotion by many Nigerians.
Speaking with TheScrutiny, Sagay said it is shameful for Bwala after leaving the APC and said he cannot work with President Tinubu because of running a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
“I think that is total lack of principle for Daniel Bwala to turn back and go to the presidency for appointment. He was in the party, he left and went to go and campaign for another candidate. After the election, he now returned to the party, swallowed his vomit and accepted appointment”.
“That is total lack of principle and that is what is killing Nigeria because Nigerians are unprincipled. They are not ashamed or embarrassed. They will do the most shocking thing and still face you with equanimity as if nothing has gone wrong”.
“We have too many in Nigeria today like Daniel Bwala in leadership positions, elites who are suffering from the disease of shamelessness. There is no other way to describe this. It is shamelessness” Sagay said.
