Tems has clinched her second Grammy at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. She won the Best African Music Performance category for her hit track “Love Me Jeje.”

Tems triumphed over tough competition, including Burna Boy, Asake, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, and Chris Brown. Her win solidifies her place in the spotlight as a leading figure in Afrobeats music.

Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, rose to fame after featuring on Wizkid’s hit “Essence,” which earned her a Grammy nomination in 2021. She also contributed to Drake’s “Fountains” and Future’s “Wait for U,” both chart-toppers.

Tems’ debut EP, For Broken Ears, and follow-up If Orange Was a Place solidified her success. Her single “Free Mind” hit the Billboard Hot 100, and her vocals on “Lift Me Up” earned Grammy nominations. In 2024, she released her critically acclaimed debut studio album, Born in the Wild.

Tems’ accolades include two Grammys, four BET Awards, and three Soul Train Music Awards. She also received three Grammy nominations this year.
