Patrick Doyle, a seasoned Nigerian actor and broadcaster, has criticised Mercy Chinwo’s ongoing dispute with her former manager, EeZee Tee. He called her actions “a big blot on Christian ethics.”

In a post on Facebook, Doyle described Chinwo as “a vile and manipulative person” with “less than noble” intentions.

Doyle also pointed out the aggressive PR campaign Chinwo and her team have launched to salvage her image. “She and her handlers have embarked on a PR blitz aimed at bolstering her besmudged image and destroying the reputation of her former record label boss,” he said.

However, Doyle warned that such matters, when taken to court, are not influenced by public relations. “When a matter like this becomes an issue of litigation, no amount of PR will count in the court of law,” he stated.

Doyle urged EeZee Tee to press on with the legal case, expressing confidence that the truth would emerge. “I urge the record label boss to stay the litigation cause because his eventual vindication is sure,” he concluded.

Chinwo and EeZee Tee have been locked in a dispute over money, contracts, and fraud allegations. Chinwo, who gained fame under EeZee Conceptz, left the label in 2022 after her contract expired.

In January 2025, the EFCC arrested EeZee Tee over a $345,000 fraud case. He claimed to have transferred $274,000 to Chinwo while in custody and admitted to withholding her royalties due to an alleged breach of contract.

Chinwo, however, denied any wrongdoing. She accused EeZee Tee of withholding her royalties from 2022 to 2024 and creating a toxic work environment. She also alleged he altered their contract and spread false rumours about her personal life. EeZee Tee denied all claims.

The case has been adjourned until 14 February, 2025.
