The Super Eagles’ journey to the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues as the dates for their next two qualifiers have been confirmed.

Nigeria will face Rwanda away on March 21 before returning home for a crucial match against Zimbabwe. These fixtures will mark the first two games under new head coach Eric Chelle, who is tasked with reviving the team’s qualification hopes.

The Super Eagles are familiar with both opponents. Rwanda previously held Nigeria to a goalless draw before defeating them 2-1 in Uyo during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. Zimbabwe also frustrated Nigeria in the first leg of the World Cup qualifiers with a 1-1 draw in November 2023.

Currently, Nigeria sits in fifth place in the group with just three points from four games—four points behind group leaders Rwanda. With six matches left, Chelle and his squad will be aiming for maximum points to boost their World Cup qualification chances.
