A Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has reserved judgment on a suit filed by sacked elected state, local government and ward executives of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state under the leadership of Chief Emeka Beke, against the party’s National Executive and the Seven-man Caretaker Committee in the state led by Chief Tony Okocha.
Other defendants in the suit filed by Sam Sam Etetegwung, for himself and all elected executive members of APC, the Inspector General of Police, Nigerian Police Force and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Etetegwung, Banarth Ezemoye and Ezekiel Ubom, for themselves and on behalf of the elected executives of APC is challenging their sacking Beke and the appointment of the caretaker committee led by Okocha.
At resumed sitting, Thursday, counsels representing the parties, argued and adopted their final written addresses.
However, the Presiding Judge, Justice Sika Aprioku, after listening to them, reserved his judgment on a day to be communicated to the parties within 48hours.
Aprioku had in a ruling on an application for joinder by some members of APC loyal to the Vice Chairman of APC, South-South, Victor Giadom, dismissed the application for lacking in merit and awarded fine of N300,000 in favour of the claimants.
