Tinubu Delays Federal Executive Council To Address #EndBadGovernance Protests With Security Chiefs

President Bola Tinubu has postponed this week’s Federal Executive Council meeting to an undisclosed date and will instead hold a meeting with security chiefs.

The gathering will include the vice president, national security adviser, all service chiefs, the inspector general of police, and the comptroller generals of customs and immigration, along with the chief of staff to the president.

The postponement comes amid ongoing nationwide protests over hunger and hardship. Reports indicate that Nigerians, primarily youths, are mobilising for the fifth day of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests.

On Sunday, President Tinubu called for dialogue and an immediate end to the protests that have intensified since Thursday. He affirmed that his administration is prepared to address the protesters’ concerns and has heard their calls “loud and clear.”

Despite his appeal, protests continue across major cities, including Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, and other states.
