The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the official list of nominees for the men’s categories at the 2024 CAF Awards, Soccernet.ng reports.

The awards ceremony, set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on 16 December 2024, will honour outstanding performances in African football from January to October 2024.

This year’s edition follows the 2023 awards, where Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen was named African Player of the Year, while Asisat Oshoala earned the women’s award.

Despite his impressive showing for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Osimhen has missed out on the top 10 nominees for this year’s award, alongside national team coach Jose Peseiro, who led the Super Eagles to the AFCON final.

Notably, players like Brahim Diaz and Victor Boniface were also expected to feature in the Player of the Year list but were omitted, likely due to their non-participation in the 2023 AFCON tournament.
