The Abia State High Court sitting in Umuahia has discharged and acquitted five Biafra agitators in a judgement described as very pleasing.
Reacting while revealing this in a post on his X handle, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, one of the counsels to detained Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who was also counsel to the detained quintet, he said the agitators were accused of conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms and membership of unlawful group.
He said; โAn Abia State High Court sitting in Umuahia has today, the 19th day of December, 2024, discharged and acquitted 5 (five) Biafrans who were arrested on 20th July, 2022 and subsequently charged before the court in Charge No: HU/61C/2022.
โThese innocent Biafrans were arraigned on a three count charge of conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearm, and membership of an unlawful society. Trial in the charge commenced, and the prosecution called a total of three witnesses.
โToday, the 19th December, 2024, the Court per Hon. Justice A.O. Chijioke, while ruling on our application, discharged and consequently acquitted these innocent Biafrans, of all counts of the charge.
