    ODIEC Clears 13 Political Parties For Ondo Local Government Polls

    The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) has released the names of the political parties that will be participating in the Local Government elections coming up on 18th January 2025.

    This information was disclosed on Friday by the Commissioner in charge of Communication, Media and Information Technology, Tunde Adeleye.

    According to Adeleye, at the end of the screening exercise that took place at the ODIEC Headquarters on Friday 27th, December, 2025; 13 political parties were cleared to take part in the election for the Chairmanship position in the 18 Local Government Areas and councillorship position in the 203 wards of the state.

    According to the Media Officer of the Commission, Bisi Lawani, the list of screened and cleared political parties was released by ODIEC on January 1st, 2025.

    The political parties are:

    1. Action Democratic Party (ADP)
    2. Action People’s Party (APP)
    3. All Progressive Congress (APC)
    4. All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)
    5. Boot party (BP)
    6. Labour Party (LP)
    7. New Nigeria People Party (NNPP)
    8. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
    9. Social Democratic Party (SDP)
    10. Young Progressive Party (YPP)
    11. Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)
    12. Action Alliance (AA)
    13. National Rescue Movement (NRM)

    ODIEC equally disclosed that campaigns by political parties which commenced of 26th December 2024 will end on January 16th 2025.
