The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo- Agege is the leader of the party in Delta State.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka confirmed this to TheScrutinyNG on Wednesday.
There has been controversy in the state on who truly is the party leader between Omo-Agege and Festus Keyamo (SAN), the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
Recently, Keyamo led a high-profile visit of Delta APC leaders to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Aso Villa, Abuja.
Omo- Agege, who was the party’s governorship candidate in the last general elections was missing at the meeting.
Others at meeting with the president include the Delta APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, the three APC Senators—Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central), Senator Ned Nwoko (Delta North), and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas (Delta South).
Also present at the meeting were Hon. Francis Waive and Hon. Stella Okotete a former national women leader of the APC.
When asked who is recognised as the authentic leader of the party in Delta State, Morka replied “ Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, former Deputy President of the 9th Senate”.
