Lagos and some parts of Ogun State are to experience a 25-day blackout due to maintenance works to be carried out by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on the Omotosho-Ikeja West 330kva line.

The power interruption is to affect businesses and households, especially one of the largest industrial clusters in Nigeria located in Agbara, Ogun State.

In a public notice to its customers, both Eko Electricity Distribution Company and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company disclosed that, the power interruption will commence from Monday July 28, to August 21, 2025 from 8am to 5pm daily.

The power firms said the outage is necessary to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to carry out essential maintenance work on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line, a critical infrastructural element in the national power grid.

The utility firms noted that the repair works would cause intermittent power supply and load shedding across its network during the period.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask for your understanding.”
