The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio has vowed that the All Progressives Congress, (APC) will defeat incumbent, Governor Godwin Obaseki and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State during the upcoming governorship polls.
Senator Akpabio gave the assurance during the South -South Zonal meeting of the Party held in Calabar, Sunday.
In his remarks, the Senate President asserted that by the time they hold another Zonal meeting next year he hoped that two governors would be sitting with them.
His words: ” I am hoping that by the time we’ll hold this meeting next year, we shall be sitting with two Governors from the South-south zone”.
“God has enabled the zone to be on the table”, and centre of Governance in the country.
“45 years after the Late Senator Joseph Wayas, my emergence as Senate President is in the best interest of the zone. If we are committed, we will achieve anything, we are going to defeat Obaseki,” he said.
