Ahead of the two-legged 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers between Nigeria and Libya next month, the North African country has listed 28 Mediterranean Knights to face the Super Eagles.

The Libyan national team will be hosted by its Nigerian counterpart on Friday, October 11, and then the confrontation between them will be renewed on October 15 in Libya. The Mediterranean Knights occupy the 4th place in Group D in the AFCON qualifiers with one point, which it earned from its draw at home with the Rwandan national team in the first round, and in the second round, it lost the result of its match against the host Benin national team. Nigeria tops Group D with 4 points, followed by Benin with 3 points and Rwanda with 2 points.

The list of Mediterranean Knights called up to the upcoming camp includes the following players: Murad Al-Wahishi (Al-Ahly Benghazi), Abdul Jawad Rizq (Al-Nasr), Mohammed Ayyad (Abu Salim), Ahmed Ayyad (Al-Tahadi), Ali Youssef (Al-Afriqi Al-Tunisi), Ahmed Saleh (Al-Akhdar), Ahmed Al-Tarbi (Al-Ahly Tripoli), Magdy Mustafa Artiba (Al-Akhdar), Sobhi Al-Mabrouk Al-Dawi (Al-Ittihad), Mahdi Al-Kut (Al-Akhdar), Mohammed Al-Shtiwi (Al-Hilal), Sand Bin Ali (Al-Nasr), Al-Bahlol Abu Sahmain (Al-Ahly Benghazi), Badr Hassan (Al-Nasr), Suhaib Bin Suleiman (Al-Ahly Benghazi), Faisal Al-Badri (Al-Hilal), Muhannad Mustafa Al-Mabrouk (Al-Madina), Osama Al-Sharimi (Al-Suwaihli), Omar Al-Khoja (Al-Suwaihli), Nour Al-Din Al-Qalib (Al-Ahly Tripoli), Ahmed Saad (Al-Hilal), Mohammed Al-Tabbal (Al-Nasr), Fadel Salama (Al-Ahly Benghazi), Ahmed Al-Masmari (Barcelona B, Spain), Ezz El-Din Al-Mariami (Al Hilal), Moaz Issa (Al Ittihad), Ahmed Karaoua (Al Ahly Tripoli), Abdul-Miser Abu Shaiba (Al Ittihad).

Meanwhile, the Libyan national team will begin its journey starting from the next international break under the leadership of the new technical director Nasser Al-Hadhiri, who took over the responsibility after the Serbian Milutan Sredojevic “Micho”, who was dismissed from his position due to the decline in the results of the “Knights of the Mediterranean” team in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers. Coach Nasser Al-Hadhiri chose former international player and sports analyst Abu Bakr Al-Hark as his assistant within the technical staff, in addition to former international goalkeeper Misbah Shanqab as goalkeeper coach.
