The Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Dr. Yunusa Tanko has called on its members to resist the arrest of human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi.
Farotimi was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday and taken to Ekiti state over alleged libel complaint by Chief Afe Babalola (SAN).
In a post on his X page, Tanko wrote “The arrest of Obidient @DeleFarotimi is the manifestation of the the decay in our Democratic Process. We shall resist this. All Obidients MUST RESIST this ……….. Watch out for our press conference tomorrow…….. A New Nigeria is POssible”.
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Peter Obi, Femi Falana (SAN) Richard Akinnola and other prominent Nigerians have condemned Farotimi’s arrest by the police.
