The Federal Government has said eight additional local government areas in Kano and Kebbi States are free from open defecation. This was disclosed by Professor Joseph Utsev, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, saying the National Task Group on Sanitation (NTGS) had declared these eight LGAs Open Defecation Free (ODF) across the two states. The Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) has said that former Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State evaded arrest by operatives of the anti-graft agency on Wednesday with the assistance of his successor, Governor Usman Ododo. The EFCC said its operatives had laid siege to the Kogi State Government Lodge in Abuja in an attempt to apprehend Bello, who is wanted over an alleged N80.2bn fraud case.
